The Israeli disengagement plan was announced in February 2004.

The success of Israeli disengagement is of paramount importance.

On 16 December 2005, the Security Council, pursuant to annex II, sections A and B of resolution 1353 (2001), held its 5330th meeting in private with the troop contributing countries to the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF).

The Israeli disengagement plan was the subject of much discussion.

(d) Planning for ceasefire and disengagement on a countrywide basis.

The Israeli disengagement will be judged over the long term.

1.30 Contingency planning for the disengagement' includes the pre positioning of food and other supplies for distribution, and preparation for medical emergencies that might arise during the disengagement process.

The parties act in accordance and comply with the Disengagement Agreement

Disengagement from Gaza would be a decisive step in that direction.

Finally, it is equally appropriate to commend the valiant efforts of the officials of the United Nations system and the international community, in particular the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force and the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, who over the years have invested their time and energies in the cause of peace and security in the region.

We welcome the Knesset's decision to oppose any postponement of that disengagement.

Thus, provisions for the day after disengagement should be put in place.

In fact, the trend was for disengagement with the rest of the world.

The Israeli disengagement plan offers a real opportunity to revitalize the peace process.

Also, this disengagement has done little to improve the living conditions of Palestinians.

They highlighted the need for any disengagement of ONUB to be cautious and gradual.

Therefore, Denmark strongly urges that all efforts be focused on making the disengagement successful.

The Security Council resumed its consideration of the item at its 5339th meeting, held on 21 December 2005 in accordance with the understanding reached in its prior consultations, having before it the report of the Secretary General on the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (S 2005 767).
