We highly commend the fast, coordinated and effective emergency relief efforts of the United Nations system.

The Guide has been designed to assist businesses in identifying effective ways to support United Nations emergency relief efforts.

The opportunity exists to better engage businesses in emergency relief efforts in other parts of the world as well.

In 2001, a dedicated IDP Unit was created within OCHA to support the Emergency Relief Coordinator.

For its part, Azerbaijan has allocated 1 million to United Nations emergency humanitarian assistance for immediate relief needs.
