This analytical assessment clearly shows that there is still a need for Member States to further improve their implementation of sanctions.

The team recommended support for seven of the 76 villages proposed by the Government and identified three additional villages for further assessment and possible support.

Outline of the strategy for the assessment

(a) At its first and second sessions, to be held in January and March 2002, respectively, the Preparatory Committee shall undertake the comprehensive review and assessment of progress achieved in the implementation of Agenda 21 and the Programme for the Further Implementation of Agenda 21 at its second session, the Preparatory Committee shall agree on the text of a document containing the results of the review and assessment, as well as conclusions and recommendations for further action

The United Kingdom shares the Secretary General's assessment that progress in implementing the standards for Kosovo has continued since his last report, although it is clear that further and continuing progress will be required.

Taking into consideration the overall criticism of the present atlas, and also the suggestions of experts in the field of assessment and mapping for drought and desertification, there is a definite need for revision and further development of the atlas.

A quick scan' can enable the rapid and efficient assessment of the need for further investigation, making it possible to perform a large scale testing of pay systems and policies for discriminatory elements without incurring long waiting periods and delays.

We support the statement made by Jamaica, as Chairman of the Group of 77 and China, which offered a detailed assessment of the implementation of the Monterrey Consensus and proposals for further progress in this process.

An initial assessment of the nature of the continental shelf of a coastal State is often made in the form of a desktop study, which is a review and compilation of all existing data and information. This year the Technology and Economic Assessment Panel is reporting (on pages 87 and 88 of its May 2005 progress report) that no new methods using non ozone depleting substances have emerged which would enable the Technology and Economic Assessment Panel to recommend the elimination of further uses of controlled substances for laboratory and analytical uses.
