Public Prosecutor In every district in Pakistan, prosecution of criminal cases is conducted by the State through a Public Prosecutor (P.P.).

On 25 July, the National Parliament approved the statute of the Office of the Public Prosecutor, which establishes the procedure for appointment of the Prosecutor General, sets out the organic structure of the Office of the Prosecutor General and provides for the Superior Council of the Prosecution Service.

The Regional Public Prosecutor subsequently upheld this decision.

2.7 On 21 May 2003, DRC filed an appeal with the Regional Public Prosecutor of Copenhagen ( the Prosecutor ).

Taiwan s Public Prosecutor has indicted the wife of President Chen Shui bien for embezzling public funds. Chen, as a sitting president, cannot be indicted even though the prosecutor says that he has evidence to prove his guilt.

He was then formally arrested, though not charged, by the deputy public prosecutor of DNIC.

This complaint received no response from the Office of the Prosecutor General.

Neither the company nor the public prosecutor brought direct evidence that the offence of misappropriation had been committed.

However, CPC sets no time limit within which the Public Prosecutor must decide whether to request a formal judicial investigation.

The tripartite authorities (mayor, public prosecutor and local police chief) constitute the forum in which local enforcement policy is coordinated.

Pre trial proceedings were conducted in seven cases involving ten accused The Prosecutor v. Bikindi, The Prosecutor v. Karemera, Ngirumpatse and Nzirorera, The Prosecutor v. Kabuga, The Prosecutor v. Karera, The Prosecutor v. Hategekimana and Nizeyimana, The Prosecutor v. Rukundo and The Prosecutor v. Zigiranyirazo.

On 1 June 2005, the Prosecutor initiated an investigation and informed Pre Trial Chamber I, followed by a public announcement thereafter.

At around 11.30 p.m. the same day, he was presented with a decision of the Minsk Public Prosecutor ordering his detention.

The above mentioned permit is issued for a time period of six months and extended for an equal time period and until the issuing of an irrevocable court decision regarding their allegations, following suspension of their deportation ordered by the First Instance Court Public Prosecutor and approved by the Principal Public Prosecutor.

This national public prosecutor will also carry out national coordinating tasks relating to the detection and prosecution of trafficking in human beings.

Mr. Mehlis is a Senior Public Prosecutor for the State of Berlin and has substantial experience in investigating serious and complex crimes.

Moreover, there is no indication that a higher prosecutor would have taken any different view from that of the Prosecutor, namely that a town or municipal council is not a public administration body whose decisions are reviewable for legality.

General (public) interest.

The Public Prosecutor will also have the power to ask for the police intervention and the collaboration of the public services, in addition to supervise the public and private establishments that care for women under a situation of violence.

Finally, even if there were a legal possibility for the victim himself to file for a formal judicial investigation because of the inaction of the Public Prosecutor, it would in effect be unfeasible if the police and the Public Prosecutor had failed to identify all of the alleged perpetrators beforehand, as in the instant case.

Since no formal criminal proceedings followed as a result of his complaint with the Public Prosecutor, the first avenue remained closed to him.

Moreover, since Mr. Marynich was detained, he has lodged with the KGB Investigations Department, the Minsk Prosecutor and the Belarus General Prosecutor more than 70 motions against his detention. They were all dismissed.

Consistent with the approach of the Court as a whole, the Prosecutor initiated a practice of consultation with stakeholders from the outset of his term, with a public hearing in June 2003 to receive input on general strategy and priority tasks.

(iv) The Act on the Public Prosecution Office, which provides that the Prosecutor has a duty to oversee compliance by public administration bodies with laws and regulations, and to review the legality of binding regulations issued by public administration bodies.

The author filed several more complaints with the Office of the Prosecutor General and with the Supreme Court.

Deportation of illegal aliens who bring charges against actions of pandering, may, by order of the First Instance Court Public Prosecutor and the approval of a Principal Public Prosecutor, be suspended until an irrevocable court decision is issued regarding the offences which were brought to Court. If the complaint is proven false, the deportation is executed.

He had also noted that, owing to the legacy of the Soviet system, in legal proceedings the public prosecutor was superior to defence lawyers.

It is also envisaged that some advisers will assist the Office of the Prosecutor General, including through the provision of training to national prosecutors, while others will focus on the capacity development of the Public Defender's Office, under the Ministry of Justice.

At the end of November just last month I handed over an additional five files to the Prosecutor General.

The Public Prosecutor would then immediately have placed the matter before the Constitutional Court, where it would have been considered, as desired by the complainants.

In its second report, Guatemala indicated that the freezing of funds is done by a judge at the request of the Office of the Public Prosecutor.

For 25 victims, an order by the competent Public Prosecutor was issued, by which their deportation was suspended, according to Article 12 of law 3064 02.

The Supreme Court will review the case if the Prosecutor General declares that new circumstances exist, and recommends a review.

The Chamber carried out pre trial activities in the cases of The Prosecutor v. Nzabirinda, The Prosecutor v. Nsengimana and The Prosecutor v. Rugambarara.

Such request shall be considered and decided upon by the judge or court immediately. Any request must therefore be made through the Office of the Public Prosecutor.

The first stage of the proceedings, namely the investigation carried out by the public prosecutor, can only be taken as completed if this time limit is observed.
