(e) Greater reliance on investment income

Though policy alternates between supply side and neo Keynesian enthusiasm, the one persistent reality is a significant decline of investment as a share of national income in most high income countries in recent years. According to IMF data, gross investment spending in these countries has declined from 24.9 of GDP in 1990 to just 20 in 2013.

We repeat the goal is only 0.7 per cent of gross national income.

Investment simultaneously generates income and expands productive capacity.

Developed countries must step up efforts to meet the target of 0.7 per cent of gross national income for official development assistance, to make available the necessary financing to scale up Millennium Development Goal related investment.

This shows you life expectancy against gross national income how rich countries are on average.

Low income countries in the normal process of development, for example, receive steady inflows of official foreign assistance of about 3 of their gross national income. By contrast, aid reached 95 of gross national income in Rwanda soon after the conflict ended, but fell to 20 within five years.

Hence, my delegation welcomes the efforts of those donor countries that have achieved the 0.7 per cent target of gross national income as official development assistance (ODA), with 0.2 per cent of gross national income for the least developed countries.

It's basically two ratios of per capita GDP, per capita gross domestic product, so average income.

Statistics on per capita or per income gross domestic product hide much more than they reveal.

Currently, the investment section has six investment officers who cover global equity markets and fixed income investments.

The Fund relies on three sources of income (a) employers' contributions (b) employees' contributions and (c) investment income.

Five countries have reached the official development assistance (ODA) target of 0.7 per cent of gross national income (GNI).

Real per capita gross national income (GNI), in 1997 dollars, dropped by 33.4 per cent from 1,860 to 1,237.

After the addition of income in the amount of 184,000, the initial revised appropriation amounts to 329,501,900 gross ( 298,437,000 net).

By 2010, this will account for 0.56 per cent of the Union's collective gross national income an annual additional 20 billion euros.

From the outset, we have led the efforts to increase this assistance to 0.7 per cent of gross national income by 2015.

Many countries represented here have reiterated and reaffirmed their commitment to increasing their cooperation to 0.7 per cent of their gross national income.

Disparities in income are growing quickly within some countries, and urban rural and regional inequalities in per capita gross domestic product are widening.

We recall their commitment to increase their official development assistance to a level equivalent to 0.7 per cent of their gross national income.

These instruments include tax exemption on income remitted into the country by Malaysian companies investing overseas, the provision of investment guarantees and investment promotion missions abroad.

Approves gross appropriations in the amount of 209.0 million for the purposes indicated below and resolves that the income estimates of 12.6 million will be used to offset the gross appropriations, resulting in estimated net appropriations of 196.4 million

Developed countries also have an obligation to provide as official development assistance to developing countries the agreed upon percentage of their gross national income.

The world has long run a substantial deficit in investment income, even though the correct numbers should sum to zero. The missing income must be going somewhere.

An automated solution will be implemented to achieve effective monitoring of investment performance and risks undertaken and the prompt identification of the Fund's investment income and assets.

(b) In order to establish accountability, the Investment Management Service should either (i) ensure that the fixed income investment officer acts with greater independence in the management of the portfolio or (ii) consider outsourcing the fixed income portfolio while maintaining the investment officer to monitor the performance of the outsourced portfolio (AS2003 801 02 011)

We call on more donor countries to join us in delivering on the agreed United Nations target of 0.7 per cent of gross national income.

However, the principal element of the methodology should continue to be capacity to pay, the most accurate reflection of which was gross national income (GNI).

(25) As regards income from management cost, it is required to make disclosure of the amount of such income at current period and last period according to such categories as income from securities investment fund management cost and income from social security fund management cost.

As to official development assistance, we welcome the decision taken by the European Union to increase its allotment to 0.7 per cent of gross national income.

Tonga, therefore, welcomes the renewed commitment made by donor partners to meeting the target of 0.7 per cent ODA of their gross national income by 2015.

All developed countries should make timetables for reaching the target of 0.7 per cent of gross national income for international development assistance by the year 2015.

Since the 2000 s, China s gross assets and gross liabilities have increased dramatically, owing to the success of China s trade promotion and FDI policies. As a result, China s net international investment position has become very vulnerable to the devaluation of the dollar.

Previous positions include Deputy Director General, Foreign Investment Taxation Department Chief, Income Tax Division, Foreign Investment Taxation Department and Chief, Tax Policy and Tax Administration Divisions, Offshore Oil Tax Administration.

The growth of gross national income (GNI) in developing countries outpaced the growth in debt in 2004, improving the total debt to income ratio for all developing countries to an estimated 35.2 per cent, down from 38.6 per cent in 2003.

However, global ODA is still well below the agreed target of 0.7 per cent of the gross national income of developed countries, leaving much room for improvement.

The need to accelerate the pace of reaching the ODA target of 0.7 per cent of gross national income was stated emphatically and echoed by many speakers.

The Government of Luxembourg has confirmed its intention to increase its ODA contribution in the years to come to one per cent of its gross national income.

There may well be some increase in gross investment, as obsolete equipment and software are replaced. But there also is some evidence that innovation is slowing perhaps the result of reduced investment in research in the past five years.
