Perhaps this can be accomplished through the issuance of a modified version of Statement XX, whose existing format already provides for full reporting of the figures pertaining to the Medical Insurance Plan and the Geneva plan.

The main issues of the elections were the economy, corruption, crime and, to a certain extent, the future financing of the state medical insurance plan and the pension system.

The Medical Insurance Plan is a health and dental insurance plan operated by the United Nations, UNDP, the Office of the United Nations Commissioner for Refugees and UNICEF at designated duty stations for the benefit of locally recruited General Service staff members, national Professional officers, former staff members and their eligible family members.

The two other plans are the Medical Insurance Plan, covering locally recruited General Service staff and National Officer staff members at designated duty stations away from Headquarters, and the Van Breda plan, covering all other staff at offices away from Headquarters.

Fees are charged for hospital care and medical insurance is compulsory for all workers.

They do not have medical insurance, so doctors do not want to examine them.

In all cases involving claims for medical expenses not covered by the after service medical insurance schemes of the member organizations, prior advice of the medical consultant was obtained.

In addition, like UNDP and UNFPA, and taking into account confidentiality concerns, UNICEF has also agreed to the staff request to outsource the administration of the medical insurance plan for locally recruited staff.

Thirty million United States citizens, most of whom were children, had no medical insurance coverage.

29. At the time of the audit, except for the Medical Insurance Plan, which was administered on a globally decentralized basis under the coordination of the Insurance Section, claims processing was handled through administrative services contracts with Aetna, Blue Cross, GHI, Kaiser, HIP and Van Breda.

Once registered for the scheme they qualify for a basic insurance package, consisting of primary medical care, specialist medical care, hospitalisation and prescription drugs.

The United Nations will not bear any responsibility for medical or life insurance for the consultant.

The number of people covered by basic old age insurance, unemployment insurance, workers compensation, and maternity insurance has risen substantially. Moreover, universal medical insurance is emerging, and a comprehensive system for providing aid to students from poor families has been established.
