The twelfth annual meeting of mandate holders was held in Geneva from 20 to 24 June 2005.

The Special Adviser on Gender Issues and Advancement of Women addressed the twelfth meeting of the special procedures mandate holders on 21 June 2005 to discuss the process, as well as opportunities for cooperation, and invited the mandate holders to draw attention to the study whenever possible.

From 20 to 24 June 2005, the Special Rapporteur participated in the twelfth annual meeting of mandate holders of the special procedures of the Commission, held in Geneva.

In the case of the annual meeting of Special Procedures mandate holders, the presence of the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights and fundamental freedoms of indigenous people ensures that indigenous issues are represented.
