One of the P 3 Political Affairs Officers is to be deployed in the field, to Daloa. The other Political Affairs Officer and the Associate Political Affairs Officer will be stationed at the headquarters office in Abidjan.

UNOCI proposes to create a new National Officer post for Protocol Officer and to redeploy the Protocol Officer, P 2 post to the Political Affairs Office as Associate Political Officer.

Mr. Richard Lennane, Political Affairs Officer, served as Secretary of the Meeting of States Parties.

In most of the political parties, women hold the post of officer in charge of women's affairs or officer in charge of organization.

The P 5 Senior Political Affairs Officer is requested to assist the Division Commander in Kisangani by providing political advice on the potential implications of intended military plans and serving as the point of contact with the heads of offices in the divisional area of operations and the Political Affairs Division in Kinshasa.

The Senior Political Affairs Officer would coordinate and direct the production of short and longer term analytical papers, briefings, estimates, threat and risk assessments and other research projects.

The organizational change resulted in a net decrease of five international staff posts, including one additional P 4 post relating to the deployment of a Regional Political Affairs Officer (P 4) for the Eastern Region.
