Regional integration is an important facet of development in the contemporary international situation.

The United Kingdom implemented a US 18 million Regional Trade Facilitation Programme in Southern Africa and provided funding to the multilateral and regional development organizations, including the African Development Bank, EU and the World Bank.

As our experience shows, the development of this kind of regional cooperation can be an important factor in peacebuilding and in strengthening regional stability.
