Opting for this variant would also make the Secretariat the only organization in the United Nations common system that included staff in posts in the General Service and related categories and staff in posts financed by extrabudgetary resources in geographic status.

11.19 The amount of 6,303,600, reflecting an increase of 112,200, is required for the continuation of the 19 existing posts and related non post resources.

The Division currently has 22 support account posts (18 Professional and 4 General Service), excluding the two posts related to the Criminal Law and Judicial Advisory Unit that were transferred in 2004 to the Peacekeeping Best Practices Section (see para. 45 above).

The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications plans and promotes policies governing the use of radio waves and space related research and development in the same field.

28D.21 Resources amounting to 154,885,500 would provide for the continuation of 316 posts in the Facilities and Commercial Services Division and related non post requirements.

c. Conversion of temporary posts to established posts

The Advisory Committee recommends approval of the proposal with regard to the pool of 42 resident auditors and the establishment of the related new posts while reiterating that the pool in no way constitutes a permanent number of posts and that the number of Resident Auditor posts should be adjusted as mission mandates terminate or as new missions are approved.

The reductions recommended by the Advisory Committee in documents A 59 620, A 59 656 Add.1 and A 59 736 Add.6 related to posts in UNFICYP.

It should be pointed out that expenditures related relating to fPresently, fiveive posts under the aAdministrationve and fFinanceial services programme were are covered by funds from programme support.

The Committee is not convinced of the need for one of the proposed new posts related to memorandums of understanding the Service was strengthened by the addition of six Professional and five General Services posts pursuant to the recommendations of the Panel on United Nations Peace Operations.

The net increase in national staff posts and United Nations Volunteers posts in the Human Rights Office relates to an increase in the posts in the third quarter of 2004 05 period, from two national staff posts to six posts and from two United Nations Volunteers posts to five posts, within the highest overall strength of 556 national staff posts and 147 United Nations Volunteers posts for the entire 2004 05 period.
