The latest attack by an illegal settler occurred against the backdrop of the highly anticipated and long awaited Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and parts of the northern West Bank, after 38 consecutive years of brutal occupation.

Noting with grave concern that violence, including gender based violence and violence against children, continues to be deliberately directed against civilian populations in many emergency situations,

The General Secretariat for Gender Equality is the governmental body competent for violence against women, a form of which is domestic violence (violence within the family).
