Where a party was able to prove the validity of a signature, there was no need for an additional reliability test.

Another argument was that third parties might use the reliability element to deny the validity of a signature that had been agreed by the parties.

In accordance with section XI, paragraph 35, of General Assembly resolution 59 276, the reliability and validity of information received from sources other than international organizations and Governments must be carefully weighed.
