Staffing requirements by level and category are presented in table 3.

The actual payments were equivalent to level 4, step 5, of the scale applicable to Freetown, while the budget was based on level 3, step 3, of the same salary scale.

This post is being filled with a staff member at the P 3 level.

The Nairobi hub is proposed to remain staffed with eight posts three regular budget (1 P 4, 1 P 3, 1 Local level) and five support account (2 P 4, 2 P 3, 1 General Service (Other level)).

Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety to the Convention on Biological Diversity Text and Annexes, 2000, Montreal, secretariat of the Convention

The new posts include a Senior Conflict Management Officer at the P 5 level, an Information Advocacy and Outreach Officer at the P 3 level and two General Service (Other level) support staff.

Croatia was determined to work within the framework of the relevant United Nations conventions on climate change, biodiversity and biosafety.

Of these posts, 13, in the Investigations Unit in Vienna (1 P 5, 2 P 4, 3 P 3 and 2 General Service (Other level)) and the Investigations Unit in Nairobi (2 P 4, 2 P 3 and 1 General Service Local level), are funded from the support account for Peacekeeping Operations.

For example, for general industrial statistics, UNIDO collects data at the 4 digit level of ISIC, Rev.3, or the 4 digit level of ISIC, Rev.2.

Three additional Finance Officer posts (P 3 level) are proposed for the Finance Management and Support Service.

The Participation, Entitlements and Contributions Section comprises 13 posts 3 Professional and 10 General Service (Other level).

The draft high level declaration (SAICM PREPCOM.3 2) will be taken up later in the week.

(d) As also mentioned above, in paragraph 7 (e), the post of Protocol Officer would be revised downward from the P 4 level to the P 3 level.

Item 3 Policy frameworks on or relevant to FPIC at inter agency level, including CCA UNDAF PRSPs, MDGs

The Committee therefore recommends against the establishment of the additional P 3 and General Service (Other level) posts.

Currently, the Unit has two Professional posts in the regular budget, one at the P 5 level for the Chief of Unit and another at the P 3 level.

Extensions written for PHP 3 will not work with PHP 4, neither as binaries nor at the source level.

Invites the parties to the Convention that have not yet ratified or acceded to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety to consider doing so

The Section will combine a staffing component of five Professionals (1 P 5, 2 P 4, 2 P 3) and seven General Service posts (1 Principal level and 6 Other level).

In this respect, attention is drawn to paragraph 62(3) (previously 60(3)) that qualifies the level of activity in order the holder of a negotiable transport document to assume liabilities.

12. Welcomes the launching of the pilot phase of the Biosafety Clearing House, and calls for strengthened international support for developing countries to build their national capacities to interact with it and to benefit from its expeditious strengthening so that it becomes fully functional at the time of the entry into force of the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety

This office would be composed of one P 3 Administrative Officer and one General Service (Other level) Administrative Assistant post.
