III. HUMAN RESOURCES PLANNING, RECRUITMENT, STATUS OF WOMEN AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT

Progress has been made in the implementation of a number of career support mechanisms, including new development programmes and career planning workshops.

Career support initiatives under way include development programmes for staff at all levels, mechanisms to facilitate mobility and tools to assist staff in career planning and managers in providing career support to staff.

Both Tribunals have developed internal measures to further career planning activities, such as the provision of special leave arrangements for training purposes and the establishment of a career transition centre to assist staff in pursuing career changes.

(iv) Considering human rights education as a criterion for the qualification, accreditation and career development of educational staff and the accreditation of training activities of non governmental organizations.

Career development was pursued through Personal and Professional Development training, which has now involved some 4,500 staff.
