Requests the World Health Organization to review the information provided by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime on the drugs in question from a scientific and public health viewpoint and to communicate the results to the Commission on Narcotic Drugs so that the Commission may consider putting those drugs under the control of the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs of 1961 or the Convention on Psychotropic Substances of 1971

At its meeting, on March, the Commission on Narcotic Drugs considered item 11 of its agenda, entitled Provisional agenda for the forty ninth session of the Commission .

A resolution to that effect submitted to the Commission on Narcotic Drugs earlier in the year had been adopted by consensus.

Requests the Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime to report to the Commission on Narcotic Drugs at its forty ninth session on the implementation of the present resolution.

At its 1256th meeting, on 10 March, the Commission considered agenda item 9, entitled Strengthening the drug programme of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the role of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs as its governing body .

9. Requests the Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime to report to the Commission on Narcotic Drugs at its forty eighth session on the implementation of the present resolution.

At its 36th meeting, on 22 July, the Council had before it the report of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs on its forty eighth session.19
