27.25 The programme of activities under subprogramme 1, Strategic communication services, is carried out by the Strategic Communications Division, which includes information activities on the question of Palestine, the United Nations information centres, services and field offices.

27.28 Subprogramme 1, Strategic communication services, also includes public information services and activities implemented by the United Nations Information Service at Geneva, the United Nations Information Service at Vienna, the United Nations information centres and field offices.

Those services are often carried out in the framework of advisory missions, which are increasingly prepared and followed up through information and communication technology mechanisms.

(e) Providing advisory services for the formulation and implementation of policies and regulatory frameworks relating to access to and applications of information, communication and space technology

In the budget for 2006 2007, requests are made for the equipment, software, communication devices and contractual services required to support the data centre relocation project.
