A consultation meeting with Member States to discuss comments on the draft will be scheduled at the beginning of 2006.

It is for that reason that Africa called for this debate and for consultation on the basis of its draft resolution.

The draft calls for wider consultation and for a fuller assessment of the reforms realistically required to make the Council's working methods more transparent, democratic and effective.
