2. One of the main priorities of the Ministry for Home Affairs this year (1996) is the establishment, within the existing national Correctional Facility, of a Young Offenders apos Wing.

This principle is also consistent with restorative justice goals reintegration of the offender with the victim and the community is more difficult while the offender is detained in a correctional facility.

However, in August 2002, the Complaints Investigation Unit of the Correctional Services Department received ISO 9001 2000 accreditation.2 The findings of the investigation are scrutinised by the Correctional Services Department Complaints Committee.3

Six correctional facilities are currently operational in Bondiway, Buchanan, Monrovia, Kakata, Saniquellie and Gbarnga.
