At the subregional level, the Office will increase its cooperation, particularly with the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC), the Economic Community of Central African States and the Multinational Force of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (FOMUC) in the fields of security, early warning and prevention.

The Economic Community of the Great Lakes Countries (CEPGL) reported that transit traffic was a priority area for cooperation, as two Economic Community member States, Burundi and Rwanda, were landlocked.

The ASEAN Economic Community was one such economic integration arrangement and, together with the ASEAN Free Trade Area, one of the three pillars of the future ASEAN Community, planned for 2020.

In recognition of the importance of regional economic cooperation, African States have taken steps towards the revitalization of the African Economic Community, in addition to the subregional economic organizations, all of which need the support and assistance of the international community.

ECA subregional development centres are geared to serving the member States by providing technical assistance to cooperating with subregional economic communities, such as the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa, the Southern African Development Community, the Economic Community of the Central African States, the Central African Customs and Economic Union and the Economic Community of the Great Lakes Countries.

Wishing to promote cooperation between the United Nations and the Eurasian Economic Community,

Urge the international community to assist the Government in ensuring transparent economic management.

Debt relief granted by the international community should promote and reinforce economic reforms.

The international community still needed to learn how to manage such economic turmoil.

12. Invites the international community to consider supporting the creation of special economic zones and development corridors in the Economic Community of Central African States, with the active participation of the private sector

Prior to that, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) had also been involved in sustained efforts to help resolve the problems of Côte d'Ivoire, a State member of that Economic Community.

Commending the States members of the Economic Community of Central African States for their undertaking to strengthen arrangements for cooperation within the Community,

The Economic Community of West African States and the East African Community have eased trans border movements of people by issuing regional passports.

(g) Cooperation between the United Nations and the Economic Community of Central African States

This will enhance efforts towards the ideals and objectives of the African Economic Community.

Kazakhstan supported Georgia s intention to join the Central Asian economic community as an observer.

The African Union, the Economic Community of West African States and the Economic Community of Central African States have all shouldered peace and security responsibilities that in past decades would have passed automatically to extraregional entities.
