The Expert Group requested the Secretariat to edit the revised guidelines and further elaborate the individual booklet model to be submitted to the Expert Group for consideration at its next meeting.

The Expert Group agreed to conduct its work in plenary and to establish such contact groups as necessary, which would be open to observers as well as to members of the Expert Group.

The actual status of the group as a subgroup of the Expert Group on International Economic and Social Classifications was subsequently questioned by the ILO, but it still intends to report back to the Expert Group on work carried out until 2007.

The Technical Expert Group met in Geneva from 8 to 11 November 2005.

Chaired by Ambassador Ibra Déguène Ka (Senegal), the Group consisted of Kathi Lynn Austin (United States of America), arms trafficking expert, Enrico Carisch (Switzerland), finance expert, Abdoulaye Cissoko (Mali), civil aviation expert and Jean Luc Gallet (France), customs expert.

The Monitoring Group was based in Nairobi and comprised the following experts Bruno Schiemsky (Belgium), arms expert and coordinator Melvin Holt, Jr. (United States of America), arms expert Harjit Kelley (Kenya), maritime expert and Joel Salek (Colombia), finance expert.

The Expert Group agreed to set up a contact group to discuss the matter further, which reported back on its work.

The Expert Group also discussed the preceding issue at its meeting in June 2005.

The survey was based on the recommendations of the ad hoc expert working group.
