The common reporting format is a standardized format to be used by Parties for electronic reporting of estimates of greenhouse gas emissions and removals and any other relevant information.

The common reporting format (CRF) is an integral part of the national inventory submission.

A standardized format for internal progress reporting needs to be reintroduced and used as a tool for programme management and decision making.

The national inventories of Liechtenstein, Luxembourg and Poland were not reviewed in 2004 because these Parties did not submit a national inventory report they submitted only the common reporting format.

CRIC 6 will review the report of CRIC 5 and make further recommendations in the form of draft decision(s) on improved format for national reporting on the achievements reached in combating desertification and land degradation, for the consideration of COP 8.
