The Burundi peace process advanced considerably, following the deployment of the United Nations Operation in Burundi (UNOB) in June 2004.

The availability of inspectors for deployment at short notice and well established analytical capabilities, both within the inspection team and in outside laboratories, are required to achieve this goal.

This new stage in the process will not, however, mean that the standards implementation goal has been achieved.

B. Interregional cooperation to strengthen social inclusion, gender equality and health promotion in the Millennium Development Goal process

Towards that goal, Israel is taking a number of steps to promote peace and reinvigorate the peace process.

The pace of the United Nations military deployment has increased but remains behind schedule, owing largely to delays in the force generation process.

The Bonn Agreement prescribes the establishment of several key institutions to guide the process towards its ultimate goal of lasting peace, stability and respect for human rights.

As reported last year much effort has been made by UNHCR to improve and streamline the process for the deployment of staff to emergency operations, however the initiatives have not been entirely successful.
