International policies and standards regarding the safety of chemicals at work are formulated by the ILO.

The international transfer of nuclear waste and materials should be carried out in full conformity with existing international safety standards.

This law conforms to the International Basic Safety Standards for Protection against Ionizing Radiation and for the Safety of Radiation Sources issued by IAEA.

The IAEA apos s role is to develop a comprehensive nuclear safety regime that consists of three elements international binding agreements safety standards and measures to provide for the application of those agreements and standards. In recent years several important international conventions, negotiated under IAEA auspices, have helped to fill gaps in the international nuclear safety regime.

the International Maritime Organization also conducted an evaluation of compliance with international maritime safety standards in the port of Acajutla in November 2004.

Space safety standards of radioisotope and reactor NPS should be based on the most recent IAEA source texts and on the recommendations of the International Commission on Radiological Protection, taking into account national standards and rules, such as the radiation safety standards (MRV 99) or the basic radiation safety sanitary rules (OSPORB 99) currently in force in the Russian Federation.

154. The Unit is responsible for ensuring safety and compliance with international standards of the peacekeeping aircraft fleet of the Organization.

It has done so while maintaining strict standards for safety.

The strong relationship between the Agency's operational safety standards and its safety review services has been an important element in evaluating and enhancing the effectiveness of the standards.

23. Belarus was interested in expanding contacts with the Scientific Committee, particularly in the preparation of new international radiation protection safety standards.

The most illustrative examples of NTBs include plant and animal health standards, food safety standards, environmental certification and other similar export quality standards.

59. The minimum standards regarding safety and healthy working conditions are imperative.

International regulations and standards for radioactive protection, national strategies for nuclear energy development, and safety and radioactive waste management measures have been substantially revised.

IAEA refers closely with the WHO Quality Assurance and Safety of Medicine group, which is charged with developing standards and monographs for international pharmacopoeia.

(c) Reductions in worker protection in terms of occupational health and safety standards

Similarly, within the framework of ECE, an international agreement has just been adopted to develop global technical standards for motor vehicles, which should lead to the production of vehicles meeting high safety and environmental standards.

Space NPS safety standards must be maintained by any NPS applications for peaceful purposes

Included here would be many regulations pertaining to health or safety standards, for example.

(a) Promote energy material efficiency standards, international product standards

We urge member States to make effective use of the Agency's safety review services and other forms of assistance to raise nuclear safety standards and uphold an effective nuclear safety culture.

Its radiation risk assessments provide the scientific foundation used by the International Commission on Radiological Protection in developing its recommendations for radiation protection and by the International Atomic Energy Agency in formulating its Basic Safety Standards for the protection of people and the safety of radiation sources.

These EMS standards have already been adopted as international standards.

Such partnerships would enable those countries to have equitable access to international markets and allow for the implementation of international transport safety rules and environmental standards within an international trading system and international economy that took account of their special situation.

Mindful of the differences in the safety Principles applied for space and the safety standards for terrestrial systems, the Subcommittee agreed that the study of those developments, arising from the latest International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) recommendations, should be continued.

155. The Unit strives to improve the safety standards of United Nations aviation activities, by conducting periodic inspection, safety surveys, vendor s evaluation and training of staff from different missions at the institutions recommended by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

For example, the Committee s estimates have served as the basis for the International Basic Safety Standards for Protection against Ionizing Radiation and for the Safety of Radiation Sources, which were approved by the IAEA Board of Governors in September 1994.b

The standards were under review and benchmarked against international commercial standards.

The most recent ICRP recommendations on radiation safety are incorporated in the IAEA International Basic Standards for Protection against Ionizing Radiation and for the Safety of Radiation Sources, which have been approved by the International Labour Organization, FAO, WHO, IAEA, PAHO and the Nuclear Energy Agency of OECD.
