After each meeting, all participants received a draft copy of the meeting report for comments.

At the close of the meeting the participants identified five priorities

Several participants stated that the meeting should be more pro active.

The meeting was then mainly devoted to discussions and interventions from participants.

Participants at the fourth inter committee meeting agreed to transmit the following points to the seventeenth meeting of chairpersons.

Participants at the meeting also discussed the problems experienced during implementation of the pilot projects.

26. The participants agreed that the meeting must take practical steps to support their colleague.

In the view of many participants, the special high level meeting assumed particular importance in 2005.

22. The participants agreed that the meeting should reiterate the basic principles which guided their work.

Participants in advisory meetings are not normally expected to provide any other services to the Organization than their contribution as participants in the meeting in question, but they may agree to contribute papers for consideration at the meeting at no cost.

Given the number of participants, it is foreseen that the meeting will be a full day event.

Those strategies and programmes should be ongoing and should be aimed at meeting the needs of participants.

Thirty five participants from Governments, research institutes and non governmental institutes within the region attended the meeting.

All the participants thought the meeting was a success and the activities of the roundtable should be continued.

The meeting was attended by over 600 participants from 145 Governments and numerous intergovernmental and non governmental organizations.

At the opening meeting, the participants adopted the provisional agenda (HRI ICM 2005 1 and Corr.1) and programme of work.
