Government Policy. The Government adopted the National Health Policy in 2001 to bring about an overhaul of the Health Sector in Pakistan.

National policy also recognizes the necessary and legitimate role of the private sector in providing health services.

In the health sector, we have designated HIV AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis as diseases of national concern.

In compliance with the activities regarding the reforms in the health care sector, one of the key components of the project for promotion and development of the health sector, is the preparation of a new strategic document, National Health Strategy, for which the Ministry of Health has set up an expert working group that will prepare the draft of the National Strategy.
