The Monitoring Group is aware of about four such cases during the reporting period.

We strongly recommend that the Inter agency and Expert Group agree on an upgraded reporting system to improve the standard of reporting of countries to the international agencies.

The group also noted that further simplification and reorganization of the questionnaire should be explored for future reporting periods, to make the reporting flexible and responsive to changing circumstances.

The panel and the subsequent reporting were well received by experts, government representatives and major group members.

Considering the very limited resources available during the first reporting and evaluation cycle, the Expert Group notes that future reporting and evaluation processes could be improved considerably if adequate resources are provided.

Another UNMOVIC roster expert attended a meeting of the New Defence Agenda bioterrorism reporting group held in Brussels in April 2005.

The Monitoring Group has determined that arms flows continued at an alarming rate and in large quantities during the reporting period.

The ad hoc consultative group agreed that International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs) issued by the International Accounting Standards Board provide a widely recognized benchmark in this respect.

The Secretariat should therefore sharpen the focus of the Evaluation Group, refine the assessment criteria for the selection of programmes and enhance reporting and follow up procedures.

The Working Group conveys its appreciation to the Government for having submitted information reporting that the above mentioned three persons are no longer held in immigration detention.

After deliberating on various aspects of corporate responsibility reporting, the Group of Experts had agreed to continue its work in that area with a view to developing guidance on voluntary disclosures.

Under this item, the Commission will consider the report of the twenty first session of the Intergovernmental Working Group of Experts on International Standards of Accounting and Reporting (ISAR) and the report of the sixth session of the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Competition Law and Policy.

The Expert Group discussed at length options to improve the reporting system on DDT and compared the experiences from similar data collection activities, such as the reporting on the access to safe drinking water supply and basic sanitation that ensued from the International Decade for Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation (1981 1990).
