Over the last year, UNIDIR had 29 staff members, 2 of which were directing staff, 3 support staff (administrative and technical), 5 core substantive programme staff, 12 project research staff and 7 visiting research fellows.

General Service staff to support the Professional staff members will be provided by UNDP in accordance with the Cooperation Agreement.

Professional staff have carried out their own functions and support functions simultaneously.

In order to support all these activities the Office has been organizing training workshops for its own staff at headquarters and in the field, with the support of the United Nations System Staff College.

UNICEF staff require the technical and organizational skills to engage with and support partners.

As Resident Magistrate based at Kabwe, Central Province of Zambia, I was in charge of all professional staff (magistrates and Local Court Justices), including all administrative support staff in the Province.

The Executive Secretary shall manage and direct such staff and services and provide appropriate support and advice to the Executive Board.

In country UNICEF staff will not always have the capacity to develop and implement all facets of a comprehensive package of support.

Effective emergency response requires the quick mobilization of qualified staff members professional support from partner agencies, qualified consultants or private sector agencies.

Some 87 administrative support staff will be retained to carry out the liquidation of UNAMSIL between 1 January and 30 June 2006.
