More space for multi stakeholder dialogue is also needed in the United Nations.

The present note has been prepared to facilitate the multi stakeholder dialogue at the fifth session of the United Nations Forum on Forests.

C. Participation, Conflict and Multi Stakeholder Processes

Specific criterion (i) The extent to which the international arrangement on forests, including, inter alia, Forum sessions, intersessional work and the multi stakeholder dialogue, and the related work of the Collaborative Partnership on Forests and its members, as well as country and organization led initiatives, have enhanced forest policy development and dialogue

The biennial World Urban Forum was established by the Governing Council of UN Habitat in its resolution 18 5 as a multi stakeholder forum to support dialogue and the exchange of experience in support of the implementation of the Habitat Agenda.

Major groups are providing discussion papers and the Bureau for the fifth session of the Forum has decided to integrate the multi stakeholder dialogue into the plenary and working group meetings, as well as into the high level segment of the session.
