The financial statements for the United Nations escrow account are issued on a six month basis.

The former special account for UNAMIC preceded UNTAC and UNMLT (statements XXXI in part one and XXVII in part two) followed completion of UNTAC main activities.

A total amount of 86,134 was written off in the financial statements on account of three uncollectable receivables in compliance with financial rule 110.15, compared with 13,734 written off in the biennium 1994 1995.

These include all funds except the special accounts for peacekeeping and the United Nations escrow account established under the provisions of Security Council resolution 986 (1995), which are the subject of separate financial statements.
