On July 10, the National Bureau of Statistics released the June 2016 Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Producer Price Index (PPI).

For example, the NASDAQ stock price index made a spectacular 14 jump upwards on the day (January 3, 2001) when America's Fed began its latest series of interest rate cuts. A jump in the market is what one might have expected.

The guide is complementary to the Producer Price Index Manual and is aimed at harmonizing concepts and providing practical advice for index compilation in the service area.

Indeed, although structural adjustment continues in China, the economy is facing an increasingly serious contraction in demand and continued deflation. The consumer price index (CPI) has remained below 2 , and the producer price index (PPI) has been negative, for 44 months.

It is worth noting other international work that does or may in future draw on the outputs of the Voorburg Group, for example the current work in progress on the manual on trade price indices under the aegis of IMF and the possible revision of the Producer Price Index Manual to incorporate work on services producer price index.

The consumer price index in July 2016 compared to June 2016 was 101.0 , i.e. the monthly inflation was 1.0 .

Zero inflation for the past three months has been a one time event driven by the fall in energy prices. The other broad components of the consumer price index have increased in recent months, and the consumer price index is up about two percentage points over the past 12 months.

For retail investors, the Shanghai Composite Index fared well thanks to the continuous inflow of funds to the Shanghai Hong Kong Stock Connect for a long time.

The Government of Brčko District, in order to protect the families with the lowest incomes, has determined and provided assessments tailored to the consumer price index.

The Producer Price Index Manual published by IMF in 2004 acknowledged that it (and the Consumer Price Indices Manual published by ILO in 2004) drew on the contents and conclusions of papers presented at meetings of the Voorburg Group.

An increase in the stock price of steel manufacturers suggests an increase in the demand for steel, which induces entrepreneurs to start more steel plants and investors to provide them with the money. Conversely, a decrease in the stock price of steel manufacturers leads entrepreneurs to liquidate existing plants and dissuades investors from committing more resources to the sector.

The validity of the finance ministry s position on the tax increase was called into question by the decline in Japan s Nikkei index of stock futures after Abe s October 1 announcement. To be sure, the budget crisis in the US caused most stock futures to decline on that day.

In particular, chapter 10 of the Producer Price Index Manual, on the Treatment of Specific Products , included accounts relating to service industries based on papers issued by the Group.

On the contrary, the real question is why the increase in stock prices has not outpaced growth in corporate earnings. After all, in the 1990 s, the US stock market surge (as in many countries) was fueled by record high price earnings ratios.

And yet it is particularly in the US that commodity prices have been falling. The Economist s euro denominated Commodity Price Index, for example, has actually risen over the last year it is only the Index in terms of dollars which is what gets all of the attention that is down.

The US government has been particularly aggressive in supporting the stock market since the peak of the equities price bubble in 2000, most notably cutting interest rates repeatedly. Of course, this was publicly justified in terms of stimulating the economy, not supporting the stock market.

As for the stock market widely viewed as a kind of casino for a small fraction of Chinese households only about 6 of China s population own shares. The Shanghai stock market index soared from 2,200 a year ago to a peak of 5,100 in mid summer and then dropped sharply, to about 3,000 now.

(d) Obtain the required 3.5 per cent annualized real rate of return for the investments of the Fund over the long term after adjustment based on the United States consumer price index.

After the government clamped down on that too, the liquidity was channeled toward stock exchanges once those crashed, it sloshed into the bond market. But the bond market is not large enough to absorb it all, so some has now returned to the stock exchanges, leading to a partial recovery in share prices, with the Shanghai index reaching 3,500.

Inflation is always a serious risk in China especially with headline increases in the country s Consumer Price Index surging through the 6 threshold this summer. The government has responded forcefully on four fronts.
