The following technical presentation on the subject of the use of NPS in outer space was made to the Subcommittee Space nuclear power source technology development pathways for enabling future space exploration , by the representative of the United States.

The representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) stated that UNDP corporately and through its field offices has been consistent in its support of the United Nations decolonization mandate and resolutions with the provision of technical assistance inputs and expertise.

The representative of the United Kingdom, speaking on behalf of the European Union, recognized that unpredictability in extra budgetary resources hindered programmes, particularly in the area of technical assistance, while predictability would enable UNCTAD to meet relevant commitments more efficiently.

The Electoral Assistance Division is identifying staff for that Office from its electoral roster and continues to work with the appointed High Representative to ensure that he is provided with the expertise and technical guidance required to fulfil his mandate.
