C. Status of Office of Internal Oversight Services recommendations

Women have the same legal status as men in civil relations

They basically enshrined the second class status of women in the civil code.

Encouragement and support of civil society organizations devoted primarily to improving the socioeconomic status of women.

The same holds for all other certificates relating to civil status, namely birth and death certificates.

Article 32 (a) of the Act provides that all corrections of personal status entries listed in the vital statistics register or the civil status register are to be made pursuant to a decision of the competent court (the magistrate's court).

In paragraph 165, the Board recommended that regional offices regularly monitor the status and quality of country office emergency preparedness and response plans.

It should be stressed that, under the Act, it is only errors in the civil status register (such as errors of name) that may be corrected.

Women agree to such marriages for various reasons the demographic imbalance that resulted from, for example, the civil war or a worsening of one's material status.

The Department continues to serve as an address for women civil servants to submit complaints regarding discrimination, injustice and grievance in their status and working conditions.

The branch offices of an insurance company do not possess the status of a legal person, and the civil liability shall be borne by the insurance company.

8. Invites States and the United Nations system to publicize the forthcoming session of the Commission on the Status of Women, including through consultation with civil society

However, the introduction of matrimonial regimes in the draft Civil Code amendments offers spouses the opportunity to choose the status under which they will administer their property.

A single, secular, national Civil Code governing personal status was essential to strengthen equality in society and to help the Government in its implementation of the Convention.

At the common system level, in 2001, the International Civil Service Commission revised and adopted the standards of conduct for the international civil service as set out in ST SGB 2002 13 ( Status, basic rights and duties of United Nations staff members ).
