One delegation suggested convening meetings of the Consultative Process later in the year, shortly before the consideration by the General Assembly of the agenda item Oceans and the law of the sea , so that the Consultative Process could facilitate the preparation of the draft resolution.

The Chairperson of the firs session of the CRIC established a wide consultative process to translate the Committee's recommendations into draft decisions.
