The Democratic Republic of the Congo is now in the process of modernizing and restructuring its customs services and reforming its customs legislation.

In that process, there must be respect for diversity and local conditions and customs.

The process of clearing certain goods through customs within the Sudan has improved substantially.

Upon approval of the license issuing authority, the electronic data of the certificate would be transmitted to the Customs, and automatic comparison and intelligent examination of the Customs declaration data would be done in the Customs clearance process. All the examination results would be sent back to the enterprise through the single window , which can make the whole process of declaration, examination, customs clearance and feedback of supervision documents complete online.

Currently, the Department is in the process of developing a paperless e Customs system as outlined in the Convention.

Previously, there were 86 types of supervision documents in the import and export process which required customs examination, involving 19 departments.

Training contents should be incorporated in the curricula of customs schools, a process which so far is rather the exception than the rule.

The 164 Customs Administrations, which make up the Membership of WCO, will be invited to accede to the Framework, a process that will involve them applying certain threshold standards.
