MONITORING and EVALUATION

Self evaluation has been an integral element of the monitoring and evaluation requirements since 1986.

In addition, a self evaluation had been undertaken by the Evaluation Office, using as benchmarks the new Norms and Standards for Evaluation in the United Nations System.

A specific time frame for the operation of the centre will provide scope for monitoring and evaluation of the performance at the end of the period to determine whether the centre should be given another term.

The evaluation of such projects should have included an assessment of whether quick impact projects and other community support efforts were the most appropriate means to win the confidence of the population with the resources available.
