For the subregion as a whole, the collective GDP growth rate is expected to ease by around 0.7 per cent in 2005.

According to International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecasts, its gross domestic product (GDP) would grow by an estimated 36 per cent in 2006 the highest GDP growth rate in the IMF countries.
