1.36 The amount of 2,111,300 provides, at the maintenance level, for the salary and allowances of the Secretary General, travel requirements, general operating expenses, hospitality and furniture and equipment.

With regard to the 41 posts it has recommended against, the functions of 4 posts should be provided through redeployment and for 14 posts it is recommended that the functions be provided through general temporary assistance.

The Committee recommends acceptance of an additional General Service post now to strengthen personnel management functions in the Executive Office.

Rules 38 to 44 of the rules of procedure deal with the composition, organization and functions of the General Committee.
