My second point concerns our commitment to justice.

My Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the ceasefire and the peace talks.

And so I made a commitment. I say, I'm gonna not eat my breakfast.

I was creating commitment devices of my own long before I knew what they were.

In other words, our commitment to the Millennium Development Goals will not end with my Government.

My country renews its commitment to work for development, peaceful understanding and social justice in Haiti.

My Government reaffirms its steadfast commitment to combat that scourge in all its forms and manifestations.

On this occasion, I wish to underline my firm commitment and the commitment of the Government and people of Malta to the values and principles that we have been promoting throughout the process.

There must be commitment in return for commitment.

In conclusion, I reiterate my Government's commitment and political will to make progress in the complex yet desirable process of reform.

Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to my Special Representative, Legwaila Joseph Legwaila, and to the UNMEE civilian and military personnel for their continued commitment and hard work.

It is my hope that, as we conclude our deliberations at this session, we will have asserted our commitment to those ideals.

My Government wishes to seize this opportunity to reiterate its sincere gratitude to all delegations for their solemn adherence to that commitment.

Therefore, I should like to conclude my statement by calling upon all States to reaffirm their commitment to the International Criminal Court.

In that context, my Government viewed positively the news that the commitment to the ceasefire made by Palestinian factions will be honoured.

In conclusion, I would like to express my gratitude to my Special Representative, Legwaila Joseph Legwaila, and to the UNMEE civilian and military personnel, for their continued commitment and hard work.

My choice is the culmination of a lifetime commitment that began with growing up on the Gulf Coast of Alabama, on the Florida peninsula.

My country will strengthen its commitment to close coordination with multilateral organizations and donor partners to fight poverty and to promote sustainable human development.

My delegation welcomes the commitment made recently at London by the G 8 to cancel the multilateral debt of the 18 most indebted countries.

The celebration of the sixtieth anniversary is an ideal moment to reiterate my country's commitment to the goals and principles of the United Nations.

We also welcome the videolink contribution of Mr. James Wolfensohn, whose personal commitment to development and poverty eradication is greatly valued in my country.

There was political commitment, some financial commitment, and everybody joined in the fight.

Here, I would simply like to reiterate my Government's commitment to ensure safety for goods and persons and freedom of movement for the impartial forces.

Despite these challenges, I was encouraged during my visit to the region in May by the commitment of the parties to the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.

I hope that together they demonstrate my commitment to continuous improvement and to strengthening the Organization to meet the needs of the twenty first century.

In my view, Belgrade would help the Kosovo Serb community and itself by moving from reticence and delay to commitment and engagement in that area.

However, as my predecessor commented, the record of Serbia and Montenegro's commitment will be assessed by actions and results, not by words and mere promises.

I wish to take this opportunity to reaffirm my personal commitment to the members of the Council to remain vigilant and firm on this matter.

Without detriment to the United Nations commitment to the achievement of a comprehensive peace, I will concentrate on the Israeli Palestinian portion of my mandate.

Strengthening political commitment

I must say that my delegation always follows with great interest the briefings of Mr. Otunnu, whose commitment to children in conflict situations is abundantly clear.

Finally, Mr. President, let me once again express my delegation's support for your commitment and leadership as we prepare for next September's high level plenary meeting.

My country has consistently declared its commitment to the principles of international treaties and conventions on the peaceful use of nuclear energy and on non proliferation.

But despite my like for them, there's two nagging concerns that I've always had about commitment devices, and you might feel this if you use them yourself.

I reaffirm the resolute commitment of my Government, as a member of the Security Council and Chairman of the Al Qaida Taliban sanctions Committee, to the struggle.

I would also like to thank him for his commitment to the cause of peace and security throughout the world, and more specifically, in my country, Burundi.

On the reform of the Security Council, my delegation reaffirms its commitment to the African position in all its aspects, as eloquently articulated at the 47th plenary meeting by my Nigerian colleague on behalf of the African Group.

As the Oslo Summit on Education for Development approaches, I remain firm in my commitment to securing the right to a high quality education for every child in Pakistan especially for girls, who have long faced high barriers to education. But there remain considerable obstacles to fulfilling that commitment.
