Accordingly, the High Commissioner has decided to place under the direct supervision of the Deputy High Commissioner all Office wide support functions falling under the budget components of executive direction and management and programme support.

Under the terms of paragraphs 36 and 37 of resolution 59 283, the General Assembly endorsed a proposal of the Secretary General to transfer resources of the United Nations Administrative Tribunal (UNAT) from section 8, Legal affairs, of the proposed programme budget to section 1, Overall policymaking, direction and coordination, effective from the beginning of the biennium 2006 2007.
