Improvement of port reception facilities and better waste management

The main land based sources of marine litter are municipal landfills (waste dumps) located on the coast, riverine transport of waste from landfills and other sources, discharges of untreated municipal sewage and storm water, industrial facilities, medical waste and tourism (recreational visitors, beach goers).

Some delegations expressed their support for the establishment of regional port waste reception facilities rather than requiring States to establish these on an individual basis.

Physical improvements help inform public policy regarding traffic safety, the placement of the waste and other facilities, which, if done properly, don't compromise a community's quality of life.

Specific initiatives to support water and sanitation investments could also be considered, such as partial capital grants or loans to municipalities for investing in sewerage and waste water treatment facilities.

The EU welcomes the increasing importance that the IAEA programmes attach to assisting beneficiary countries to improve the safety of their nuclear facilities, including during the decommissioning phase, as well the safety and security of their nuclear materials and radioactive waste.

New tertiary mental health facilities have been developed to replace outdated, institutional facilities with modern, home like facilities throughout the province.

And the answer is quite simple the Chinese define these facilities as chemical facilities, not pharmaceutical facilities, so they don't audit them.
