The national authority for control of handling of work with biological agents is the Swedish Work Environment Authority (SWEA).

It should strengthen work on the BIOTRADE Initiative and the UNEP UNCTAD Capacity Building Task Force on Trade, Environment and Development (CBTF) .

I would like to appeal to all States members of the Authority to attend its annual sessions and participate fully in its work.

For its part the Ministry of Women Development has initiated work on a Code of Conduct for Gender Justice at the Work Place. It aims at creating environment free of harassment for workingwomen.

The ecological health concept necessitates that part of health activities be directed to the improvement of interaction between man and his environment, given the ever degrading environment as a consequence of both traditional and modern hazards at work.

It also welcomed the initiative of the CGE to develop a joint work plan with the National Communications Support Programme (NCSP) of the United Nations Development Programme United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Global Environment Facility (GEF).
