At its thirty fifth session (New York, 17 28 June 2002), the Commission adopted the UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Conciliation.

For the purpose indicated in paragraph 1 of this rule, the Committee may, when appropriate, set up an ad hoc conciliation commission.

1. When the conciliation proceedings commence, the running of the limitation period regarding the claim that is the subject matter of the conciliation is suspended.

Welcoming the provision by individual Member States of grants and stipends for Palestinian refugees, he announced his Government's support for intensifying the work of the United Nations Conciliation Commission for Palestine.
