The challenges faced by developing country firms, particularly SMEs, in internationalizing through OFDI include the lack of information about host country markets and regulations, access to finance and insurance coverage.

In a globally interdependent world, a better financial and investment system cannot be achieved on a country by country basis. There may be no one size fits all model for economic development, but, without global standards and complementary regulations, the long term outlook for the world economy will remain bleak.

Lack of information on investment opportunities and the host investment environment (including unfamiliarity with the legal system and OFDI regulations in the host country) is a more serious problem for SMEs than for large companies.

Please indicate the domestic legal basis, including a brief description of laws, regulations and or procedures in place in your country to control the movement of such funds or assets to designated individuals and entities.
