In April 2004, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador signed an agreement with the Government of Canada entitled the Labour Market Agreement for Persons with Disabilities.

This new Agreement, the Multilateral Framework for Labour Market Agreements for Persons with Disabilities, will ensure that Nova Scotia can continue to support labour market programs for adults with disabilities through a broad range of more flexible programs and services, from skills development to encouraging employment readiness, from supporting a person at work, to ensuring that a person is able to remain working.
