While the overall indicators for the least developed countries, landlocked developing countries and small island developing States show improvement in many respects, progress has been uneven.

In the establishment of implementation mechanisms, particular attention will be paid to the needs of least developed countries, landlocked developing countries and small island developing States.

Export subsidies and domestic supports maintained by developed countries are the main reasons for depressed world prices for agricultural commodities, undermining the competitiveness of landlocked developing countries.

To that end, the Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States should be given adequate support.
