The Advisory Committee had taken note of the information provided in document A 60 317 and Corr.1, and paragraph 17 of its report raised a number of additional questions.

The revised budget provides for the deployment of an additional 800 military contingent personnel and 275 civilian police officers, including 150 additional civilian police and one additional formed unit of 125 police.

The increased requirements are due to the need to procure, operate and maintain 82 additional general purpose 4x4 vehicles and 4 additional light buses needed for patrols by the additional civilian police and transport of the additional civilian and police personnel.

The Group took note of the offer made by the Austrian Government with regard to the new conference facilities, but would like to have an updated report, for consideration at the next session of the Board, on the rationale for additional conference facilities for UNIDO and the estimated additional costs to be borne by Member States for the construction of the facilities, the installation of equipment and maintenance costs.
