Information regarding people with disabilities originates from details on various disability benefits given to the six main categories of disabled people.

Although there are several dispersed laws dealing with the specific situation of people with disabilities, there is now a specific policy in the country, that deals Persons with Disabilities, and elaborated by the MMCAS.

Income support is provided to individuals with physical disabilities, sensory disabilities, intellectual disabilities and psychosocial disabilities by 58.8, 51.8, 56.1, and 44.7 per cent, respectively, of the countries that responded. Women with disabilities receive income support in 55.3 per cent of responding countries, and the parents of children with disabilities in 43 per cent.
