These have guided advocacy, planning and programming for the Government, UNICEF and partners.

Five undersecretaries have been shaped as follow Research and Training, Planning and Programming, International Relations, Internal Communication and Finance.

29. Recognizes the need to continue to improve and streamline the planning, programming and budgetary cycle of the Organization

1. Welcomes the commitment of the Secretary General to strengthening the United Nations, including its planning, programming and budgetary process

In recent years, UNICEF (in partnership with WHO) has increasingly supported water safety planning, water quality monitoring and improvement programming.

UNDP emphasized its policy on indigenous peoples, which specifically addressed free, prior and informed consent in planning and programming, issues of resettlement, and indigenous knowledge.

The Programme Coordination and Management Unit coordinates the planning and programming process, facilitates the project design and approval process, and monitors and reports on programme performance.

2. Reaffirms the role of the Committee as the main subsidiary organ of the General Assembly and the Economic and Social Council for planning, programming and coordination

General Assembly resolutions 41 213 and 42 211 are landmarks in the planning, programming and budgeting governance of the Organization and have stood the test of time.

The application of children specific DDR programming in recent campaigns is evidence that lessons learned regarding children are indeed being incorporated into the planning of new programmes.
