This single story of Africa ultimately comes, I think, from Western literature.

Compensation for losses suffered by cotton producers in Western Africa will be considered in the context of coherence between the trade and development aspects of cotton.

Workshops took place in Western Asia (Beirut, June 2005), in Africa (Addis Ababa, June 2005), and in Latin America and the Caribbean (Santo Domingo, October 2005).

The next largest recipients of population assistance were Asia and the Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, Western Asia and Northern Africa, and Eastern and Southern Europe.

Many people have migrated to Western European countries from North Africa and Turkey during the last half century, not because of Western generosity, but because they were required for jobs that natives no longer wanted. They were treated as temporary workers, however, not as immigrants.

Mr. González Díaz (Asociación Saharaui para la Defensa de Derechos Humanos) observed that the Western Sahara dispute was only one aspect of the ongoing decolonization of North Africa.

The ASYCUDA regional support centre for western Africa in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) is staffed with both international and local experts who undertake multiple support missions in the region.
