For Malaysia, our National Youth Consultative Council, established in 1972, is the highest body that acts as a youth parliament.

Among those activities, the establishment in 2004 of the Local Agenda 21 Youth Parliament should be underlined.

A total of 46 young people have a seat on the youth council, 30 of them girls and 16 boys 23 of them were elected to the youth parliament.

Young people, including young women, can campaign for rights important to their individual development through the activities of the youth parliament.

Considers with appreciation the educational, cultural and scientific activities implemented by ISESCO for the benefit of women, children and youth in the Islamic world, welcomes and supports ISESCO's Project of the Islamic Youth Parliament.

The introduction of the youth parliament also gives them the opportunity to get to know politics, and perhaps embark upon a political career.
